One of the most exciting parts of bringing Flowerie to life has been the process of curating products for our very first collection—a sneak peek that’s a reflection of everything Flowerie stands for: beauty, design, and nature-inspired living. Every piece in this collection has been thoughtfully chosen to capture the essence of the season while staying true to the heart of our brand.

But product selection is no simple task. It’s a balancing act between design, quality, functionality, and sourcing. I want to share a little about how we chose the items in this sneak peek collection, the thought process behind each decision, and how we made sure each piece felt like a perfect fit for Flowerie.

The Thought Process Behind Product Selection

When we began brainstorming ideas for this collection, I had a clear vision in mind: I wanted each product to feel special—something you could use daily, but also something that would bring beauty into your home. I kept coming back to the idea that these items should be heirlooms in the making.

From the beginning, we knew we wanted to create products that reflected the garden in some way—pieces that felt earthy, tactile, and beautiful.

To help guide our decisions, we kept three things top of mind: aesthetics, functionality, and quality.

Listening to Our Community

We took note of the recurring requests—home goods, desk essentials, and items that would add a touch of nature and creativity to everyday life. The sneak peek collection reflects many of those desires, and we’re excited to see how you’ll incorporate these pieces into your homes.

The Products We Chose for the Sneak Peek Collection

Once we had a clear sense of what our community was looking for, we carefully curated the products that would make up our holiday sneak peek collection. Each piece was selected to feel both useful and beautiful.

Here’s a look at some of the key pieces in this collection and the story behind why we chose them:

  • Tea Towels: Tea towels were a natural choice for this collection. They’re something we all use regularly, and they have the power to elevate even the simplest of tasks, like drying dishes or laying out a quick snack. We designed three different styles—Citrus, Golden, and Grid—each featuring unique patterns and earthy colors that feel right at home in any kitchen. These tea towels are practical yet pretty enough to leave out on display, and we wanted each design to capture the simple beauty of nature.
  • Aprons: Another product that felt right for this collection was aprons, as it was afterall how I got started in with products in the first place (hello, 2009!). I wanted to create something that felt like an everyday luxury—something that could bring a sense of beauty and purpose to cooking, baking, or even gardening. Along with designing the fabric, I also used the apron pattern I created some 15 years ago and have been loving ever since. To make them extra special, my momma hand sewed each and every one.
  • Blankets: When I think of the holidays, I think of warmth and coziness, which is why we decided to include a blanket in this collection. Blankets are one of those items that offer both comfort and style. Ours is made with a soft, locally grown cotton and woven by a family business right here in the Southeast.
  • Candles: There’s nothing like a candle to set the mood, especially during the holidays. I'm also incredibly picky when it comes to scent - it had to be the perfect pine scent. We partnered with another regional maker for our candles, hand poured and crafted with soy wax in Charleston, SC.
  • Puzzles: Puzzles felt like a natural fit for Flowerie, especially during the slowe days of the holiday season. We designed our puzzles be a mindful, relaxing experience that invites you to slow down and take in the little details.
  • Gift Wrap: We know it's more blessed to give than to receive, and so we wanted to create gift wrap that would make each present feel extra special. We’ve designed three different patterns—Swans, Floral, and Diamond— paired with our custom ribbon and velvet ribbon options, allowing you to create packages that feel as lovely on the outside as the gifts within.
  • Notepads and Sketchbooks: Creativity is at the heart of Flowerie, and we wanted to include products that would inspire you to put pen to paper. Our collection of notepads, sketchbooks, and notebooks offers something for every kind of creative task, from jotting down daily to-do lists to sketching out your next big idea. Each piece is designed with soft, earthy tones and clean lines that bring a sense of calm and order to your workspace. The different sizes—ranging from weekly planners to mini memos—are perfect for organizing your day or capturing quick bursts of inspiration.
  • Greeting Card Set: There’s something so meaningful about sending a handwritten note, and we wanted to create a greeting card set that would feel special for both the sender and the recipient. These cards are designed with timeless botanical patterns and soft, natural tones, making them perfect for the holidays or any special occasion.
  • Pencil Set: No collection would be complete without the tools to help you bring your creativity to life. Our pencil set is simple, elegant, and designed to complement the rest of the collection. Paired with our notepads and sketchbooks, these pencils are the finishing touch to a creative, thoughtful workspace.

We wanted these pieces to be ones you could use and cherish for years to come. Whether you’re gifting them to a loved one or adding them to your own space, our goal is that they bring a little more joy and beauty to your everyday life.

The Balance Between Aesthetics and Functionality

At the heart of each decision was the question: Does this product reflect the beauty and intentionality that Flowerie stands for, while also being something you’ll use every day?

For me, design includes how something feels and functions, along with how it looks. It was important that every product in this collection brought something more than just aesthetic value. We wanted these items to feel like they’re part of your everyday rhythm, making ordinary moments a little more special.

At the same time, we also had to make sure these products aligned with the overall aesthetic vision of Flowerie. We spent countless hours refining the colors, patterns, and materials to ensure each piece felt cohesive within the collection.

A Look Ahead

Curating this sneak peek collection has been such a rewarding process, and we’re so excited to share it with you. But as with every creative endeavor, there’s more to the story. Beyond the design and functionality lies a whole world of strategic decisions—especially when it comes to pricing and production.

How did we decide on the cost of these products? What’s the financial impact of producing a small-batch collection like this, and how do we plan for profitability while staying true to our values?
