When I first dreamt up Flowerie, I knew I wanted it to be a brand deeply rooted in creativity, functionality and the garden. But more than that, I wanted to bring you along on the journey—from the messy, behind-the-scenes beginnings to the polished, final products that will eventually make their way into your hands.

Flowerie is a shop experiment in transparency, a space where I can grow creatively while showing you every step along the way. And today, I want to share the very first steps in that process—how we took an idea and turned it into a tangible product.

From Concept to Reality: The Seed of Flowerie’s First Product

Every great project starts with an idea, and Flowerie is no different. The first product I decided to develop was inspired by my love of nature and the art of everyday living. I wanted something functional, beautiful, and versatile—something that could bring joy to everyday tasks.

Our first sketches were a mix of floral-inspired patterns, textures reminiscent of organic materials, and soft, inviting color palettes. I wanted every item to feel like a little piece of the garden, brought into your home.

Early Design Sketches and Prototypes

The initial sketches were the most exciting part for me—they were where I could pour all my creative energy into visualizing what these products could be. I spent hours drawing and tweaking designs, reimagining them in different colors and materials, until they felt just right.

But sketches are only the first step. Once we had our designs on paper, it was time to turn them into actual products. This meant sourcing makers, materials, finding manufacturers who could bring our vision to life, and making countless adjustments along the way.

And, oh, were there adjustments! From changing fabric weights to tweaking color tones, we faced our fair share of production challenges. But with every obstacle, we learned and evolved. I always remind myself that the road to creating something beautiful is rarely smooth, but it’s those bumps along the way that make the final product even more special.

Finding the Right Materials

One of the biggest challenges we faced was finding materials that not only matched the aesthetic vision but also felt right to the touch—something soft, textural, and durable. We experimented with different fabrics and finishes, searching for that perfect balance between beauty and functionality.

A Peek Behind the Curtain

Through every step of the development process, there have been moments of frustration, but also moments of pure delight. Seeing the first prototypes arrive, holding them in my hands, and knowing that this little idea I had in my mind was finally becoming something real—that’s what makes the process so rewarding.

From sketches to prototypes, and from ideas to tangible products, the journey to create Flowerie has been filled with learning curves, creative pivots, and endless inspiration.

But this is just the beginning.

While I’ve shared a peek at the design process, there’s so much more that goes on behind the scenes—especially when it comes to the business side of things. How do we decide on pricing? What goes into selecting suppliers? And how do we ensure that each product is as beautiful as it is functional?
